Clock Dance
By: Ann Tyler
Sure, there’s a cactus on the cover, but most of Anne Tyler’s “Clock Dance” takes place in Baltimore–the city that arguably becomes the author’s most unforgettable character. The sixty-something Willa Drake travels to Charm City to take care of a 9-year-old girl she’s never met after the child’s mother is hospitalized. The novel is a commentary on the families we cobble together from people not related to us by blood.

Read, Read, Read
Faulkner is famous for saying, “Read, read, read. Read everything—trash, classics, good and bad, and see how they do it. Just like a carpenter who works as an apprentice and studies the master. Read! You’ll absorb it.”
Reading allows you to learn so much. Whether its about different people, cultures, places or things, reading strengthens the mind.
So, for World Book Day, pick up a book, get cozy, and give your brain a workout right here at Monarch Waugh Chapel.
