If you’ve tried the Smashing Grapes in Annapolis, you’re going to be thrilled to hear that this local kitchen and wine bar is now open in Gambrills! Here, you can expect a unique combination of Mediterranean and California-inspired cuisine, and of course, a wine list with more than 350 bottles.
The menu has a little bit of everything, from small plates to share to hearty gourmet entrees. If you’re going the sharing route, there are a few favorites you need to try. Grab at least one flatbread—the carbonara or the mission fig are delightfully tasty options. Next, order a cheese board! Each cheese board option features different cheeses served aside figs, green apple, pickled red onion, grain mustard, and grapes. Lastly, order a few apps to pass around! Favorites include the mahi-mahi or short rib tacos, the shishito peppers, or the crispy calamari. If you’re not in a sharing mood, go for a hearty pasta dish like the pappardelle with lamb ragu or the lobster risotto. Ask your sommelier to recommend a bottle to share, too!
Note that wine tastings are also available on a reservation-only basis. So if you need a fun date-night idea or want to do something fun with your friends, this could be a great option!
