Thanksgiving is a time to count your blessings, not your carbs. That’s right…it’s almost holiday season and turkey-time!
Host Your Thanksgiving or Friendsgiving at Monarch
To get into the holiday spirit, we are encouraging all prospective residents and residents to host their own Friendsgiving/Thanksgiving holidays in your luxurious apartments, or feel free to reserve one of our communal areas. Monarch at Waugh Chapel is the perfect location to gather friends and family for a delectable feast. Raise your gobblets to the best holiday season yet!
How to Host Your Friendsgiving and/or Thanksgiving
Giving Thanks
Give thanks to a little and you will find a lot.
Here at Monarch Waugh Chapel, we strive to have a unified and involved community. So, we are hosting a “Give Thanks” open house for prospective residents and residents on November 16th, from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monarch Waugh Chapel is giving prospective residents who apply to make Monarch home a $500 Wegmans gift card—perfect for Thanksgiving groceries!
We also encourage all residents and prospective residents to give back to the local community. Check out these opportunities to be thankful for in nearby Annapolis:
Assemble a Basket for Lighthouse Shelter
Volunteers 14+ are encouraged to serve the annual Thanksgiving dinner to homeless individuals. Families with younger children are also urged to donate items, or assemble baskets. Representations of full Thanksgiving meals, guidelines, and needed items are on their website:
annapolislighthouse.org/get-involved. Feel free to call at (410) 349-5056.
Put on a Feast at We Care and Friends
At Annapolis non-profit organization We Care and Friends, there are many ways to aid in their annual Thanksgiving dinner for 3,000. It will be happening the Monday before Thanksgiving at the Stanton Community Center. Director Larry Griffin states, “We need greeters, food delivery people, servers and volunteers to help coordinate the children’s activities and entertainment.” So, sign-up to pass out cutlery, food/drink items, serve food, set up, clean up, and/or deliver food. Visit the website for more information at: wecareandfriends.org. Or, call at (410) 263-2874.
We encourage all residents and prospective residents to give thanks to those in need. A small donation or act will go a long way. View more ways to give back this 2019 holiday season here.
