The autumn season is just around the corner. What better way to indulge in the cool and crisp fall air than apple picking? You can pick perfect produce, indulge in homemade baked goods, or sip on freshly squeezed apple cider, all not too far from your home at Monarch at Waugh Chapel.
Not just fruit… veggies too!
Larriland Farm, located in western Howard County, is flourishing with the best apples around. But wait— there’s more! Larriland Farm is currently harvesting eggplants, peppers, sweet corn, cucumbers, and snap peas. This family owned farm is adamant about following COVID-19 policies, including their new policy of purchasing containers before you enter the fields to pick their delicious foods.
More than a Farm
Open for picking on Saturdays and Sundays, Baugher’s Farm will take you on a wagon ride to pick their apples and pumpkins! During the week, Baugher’s Fruit Market, Bakery, and Restaurant are open for business. Their home cooking and locally grown fruits and vegetables will satisfy your every need.
Fruit and Flowers
Weber’s Peachberry Farm is in Glen Arm, MD. Picking your own fruit at Peachberry is simple: just purchase what you want to pick online, arrive at the farm, follow COVID protocols, and pick your fruit!
92 Years Strong
The aroma at Lohr’s Orchard is that of freshly made apple cider donuts and warm apple cider. Free of charge, the hayrides will carry you and your friends and family through the apple orchards and pumpkin fields. Starting their 92nd year of business, Lohr’s Orchard will make sure you have the best “pick your own” fall season possible.
Not just for the Fall
If you love the fall, Heyser Farms, in Silver Spring, provides the answer. Their annual apple cider festival is one you cannot miss! Artists, wagon rides, apple picking, and farm demonstrations will fully immerse you this fall season. You can visit Heyser Farms in the winter for Christmas trees, the spring for flowers, and the summer for peaches!
